PostSubject: Opening Ceremonies [Starts at Dock] [All Initial New Members Post]   Sat Oct 12, 2013 2:14 am

The ferry honked its horn as it started towards the dock of Academy Island, its destination. The people upon the boat cheered happily at the site of the beautiful island, which woud be their home starting that day. Among the crowd, a voice could be heard."Lucy..." it whispered, a figure pushing through the crowd.
"Lucy, where did you go?"
The ship's final horn sounded as it docked, a ramp being brought down to connect its higher archway to the dock. People began to funnel through the archway excitedly, greeted by staffmembers of the school who asked for their names and gave them directions towards where the Opening Ceremonies of the academy's inaugural school year would be celebrated.

Only when the crowd lightened up did the source of the voice find this Lucy. a blue haired girl arrived in the
dining area of the ferry when she spotted a pink fish of sorts, swimming merrily around in the punchbowl. It made little whuuurrrr sounds as it spun around in the bowl, every now and again sucking up the juice with its long snout. Upon seeing its trainer, however, it shrunk.

"Lucy, come on. We're here."
Waaaooooppp.
"I don't care. You're a Gorebyss, not a Trubbish. Show some manners!"
The Pokemon payed no heed, continuing its ciruclations of the punch bowl. Only when its trainer withdrew a Pokeball from her bag did it stop, whimpering slightly. It let the girl pick it up from the bowl, not before drying it off in a nearby towel, and they both headed to rejoin the crowd. Oh, what a sight the island was! The girl was captivated by the azule sky, where Wingull and Ledyba flew by in blissful happiness, each giving out a call every now and then to tell the world of their enjoyment. Lucy was focused on the waters, which were foamy and of a greenish tint. A school of Remoraid swiftly darted towards the
clear surface, only to be startled into zigzag patterns by a Mantine flopping out of the ocean, taking a few flaps of its massive "wings" before crashing back down. On the pink shores, Krabby scuttled along in a sideways manner, snapping their pinchers at anyone who dared to challenge the little creatures. The girl was so taken aback by the scenary that she did not realize she had slowly descended off the boat and onto the dock. She was met by an employee, who held a tablet and stared daggers at her.

"Name?"

"Oh, um--"

"Hurry up, young lady, we have people to check in!"

"Marina. Copeland. Mah-Marina Copeland."

It took a few moments, but the woman pointed towards the path leading off the dock. in the distance, colorful stands and crowds could be seen, and everyone was happy in the tropical scene.

"You take that road up until you reach a large fountain. Then, you'll take a left. You should get to
the schools courtyard then."

"Thanks, ma'am."

Marina tried to go forth on her journey, but before she could get too far, the lady called at her from a few yards
away.

"Your mother is a good woman, Miss Copeland. You look a lot like her."

Marina nodded rather icily, taking this as an insult. Sighing to herself, she began down the path, hoping that not too many people heeded what the school employee had said. This island was too great, and nothing seemed to be able to let her down at the time.

It was too good to be true.

Dakota looked on at Academy Island in awe as she leaned over the rails. 'Beautiful' was an understatement. It was absolutely breathtaking. The stirring sea breezes filled her with life and excitement, and her heart fluttered as she walked along the length of the ferry to the dock. The first day of the rest of her new life at the Battle Academy. Her Honchkrow walked along the rail beside her, its talons making clattering noises with each step. It looked bored, not taking flight in the perfect clear sky. Lazy old thing. Dakota thought to herself as she stepped off the boat and took her first steps onto the dock and up to the same employee that she saw some blue-haired girl talk with.

"Name?" the woman asked impatiently, giving a pointed glare at the young girl. Dakota seemed to bristle at the blunt rudeness.

"Dakota Walker."

The employee froze and cast a nervous glance over her clipboard before averting her eyes. "...Walker?"

"That's right."

The woman nodded slowly at that, not meeting the trainer's cold indigo gaze again. "A-ah, yes. Just up the road until you see the fountain, can't miss it. Then just take a left and you'll reach the courtyard, miss."

Dakota smiled sweetly at the sudden deferential tone and bowed her head to the woman in thanks before walking past and down the road, the Honchkrow awkwardly waddling behind her by a yard, shooting dangerous stares at every trainer they passed.

"Hey, Becca. Can you see the island from your side of the window?" A eighteen year old boy asked his younger sister, who was leaning on the window next to where they sat.

"Yeah...Hey Orion, do you think we'd be in the same dorm?" The thirteen year old felt slightly anxious at the thought of being separated from her brother. It wasn't that she wasn't excited, it was just that this was something new for her. Not to mention that she couldn't find her friend, anywhere.

"I haven't the slightest clue." Came a reply from the elder trainer.

Becca sat with her brother near the exit that they knew that they would be heading out of, so they'd be the first to get off before the crowd overwhelmed the poor staff that manned the deck. Her Espeon, Nuric sat stiffly on her lap. Dutifully watching the other occupants of the room. All the shifts, breaths of the people near Becca didn't go unnoticed.

Orion's shiny Dragonair lay curled on his trainer's lap, also watching the crowd, but not for danger. Just out of sheer curiosity.

A loud horn alerted the two that they were approaching the island.

A few long minutes later, they arrived.

The Dragonair slid into Orion's backpack so its trainer could make a break for the exit. Espeon leaped up on Becca's shoulder, putting a paw on her head to steady herself as she trotted after her brother.

As they stepped into the fresh air, the duo were shocked at how fresh the air was. The bright blue sky seemed massive. Then the plant life on the island seemed like something from a post card. Becca inwardly debated if she should take a picture or not.

"Names?"

A voice snapped the two out of their awestruck thoughts.

Before Becca could stutter, Orion quickly responded to the lady. "Orion Townes, and Becca Townes."

The lady nodded and pointed towards the large crowd. Understanding the gesture, Orion pulled his sister along, dodging the laggards hidden along in the crowd. Orion's face scrunched up in complete and utter annoyance.

This nightmare would never end. At least, that's how it felt to the shaking frame that was Blaire, who had planted herself inside a public room of the ship and had steadfastly refused to take one single step out onto the deck for the entire duration of the ride. As soon as she had been driven to the boat by her parents, a knot had started forming in her stomach, and it had only grown tighter the longer she stayed on this wretched vessel. She didn't know what the other passengers were doing with their luggage, but since her Pokémon were tucked safely within her bags, she had refused the attendants permission to handle them, instead holding them tightly to her person as the ship rode along the waves of the ocean.

The entire ride she had attempted to block out the thought of where she was, instead wanting so desperately to just imagine how amazing the island she was heading for would be. That was exactly where she wanted to be, and it would be a perfect place for her to begin her life as a true trainer. Still, there was this cursed voyage to overcome, and she was not doing a very good job of it. Her entire body was shaking, enough that her briefcase vibrated as she clutched it like a life preserver to her chest. Nearly everybody she had seen on the boat had at least one of their Pokémon out to keep them company, and it hurt that she kept her own packed away, but it was for their protection. What if they were lost at sea... no, no she could not think that way. Any longer on this ship alone and she was going to lose it.

The sound of a horn. A blaring missive of salvation. The boat was docking into port. They had arrived at the island.

Shooting up to her feet, Blaire snatched her bags and nearly bowled over several passengers in her haste to get herself onto dry, stable land. Running across the deck - and probably in violation of several safe departure rules - she nearly tumbled down the ramp in her hurry, but it was all worth it. She had reached land: solid, beautiful, perfect land. She may very well have fallen to her knees and kissed it if a bunch of strangers weren't all around her watching her every move. Feeling a bit more self-conscious now over her recent actions, the young girl stood up straight and headed for a person with a clipboard, obviously there to take role.

"Name?" The employee sounded very formal, or perhaps a tad bored, though Blaire could understand being bored at having to count kids all day.

"Blaire Adenhart."

The lady perused the list she held before giving Blaire a nod and, without glancing back up, pointed over to where a rather large crowd of people - assumedly trainers and students - were already gathering. Giving her thanks, Blaire quickly hurried over, dragging her luggage behind her as she stepped into the crowd. Now that she was on land, she was feeling much more at-ease and eager to begin her new life here. This was exactly what she had been waiting for and dreaming of. This was going to be awesome!

"Hmph, I told you we were going to be late getting on the boat, Anceril," a blue-hair girl said, hanging onto her Lapras as she looked ahead. Well, this would be Kanna. Her name might sound sweet, but oh, she wasn't. She's a pretty bitter girl, takes little interest in serious situations, and pretty indecisive. However, she is sweet to the ones she loves and really good at creating tactics. Of course, Kanna has pretty violent mood swings.

"It should be fine... Right?" Despite being the older child, and Kanna's older sister, Anceril's pretty timid and usually quiet. She doesn't really talk unless addressed to, and that doesn't usually happen because she's invisible.

Turning away from her sister, she looked back towards the ship, which was heading in direction towards the island. At first, she was going to tell her Lapras, Dasani, to go ahead, but then Anceril told her that they could get lost. Hmph, what's the point? They'd find the area eventually. Looking up, she heard a soft cry.

"Togekissu!" The only other way they were going to carry all their luggage without it falling into the sea horrible was to have Aryuna carry it. Anceril let out a soft sigh before backing off, only to bump into Ceylon, Kanna's Lucario.

Letting out a grunt of anger, Kanna turned her body back towards her sister and Ceylon. "Watch it, Ceylon! That's my sister!"

"Huh, as if I care! My only task is to protect you!" Ceylon replied in retort. Though, it was strange, Anceril looked just about exactly like their deceased mother. Something about that, always made him flinch, but nonetheless, he was only tasked to protect Kanna.

Cheryl, Anceril's Whimsicott, muttered something, but even so, it was ignored. The bickering stopped after awhile, and in sight was the island. As she neared, she heard a loud horn that was so deafening, it might have caused everyone to lose their hearing.

Anceril and Kanna looked to each other, shared a glance, before looking back to the dock. So many people were coming, and she slightly saw the shape of her friend and well... Anceril's boyfriend, but would she admit that? No, she's too shy for it. As Dasani stopped at the dock, both girls jumped off. Aryuna had flown down with the luggage as well.

"Thanks you two, return!" Kanna said, holding out two Pokeballs and then a red beam shot out and the two Pokemon were encased in the light before heading back in there. The only two Pokemon Kanna had left outside were going to be Ceylon, and her Sylveon, Velia. Oh, this wasn't a normal Sylveon by the way, it's a shiny one, though, her ears always flopped down.

Anceril only had one Pokemon out with her the whole time, but she didn't mind. It was her Whimsicott, Cheryl of course. She didn't have any idea why she was enrolled into the academy, but she still had to look after her sister. Or, was it her younger sister looking after her? Besides, she couldn't bear with the thought that she'd be away from Orion for too long.

"Names please?" said one employee, with a polite voice as they neared the dock. There was a look of confusion on her face, noticing that they didn't come from the direction of the ship.

"Kanna I. Reiyuu and Anceril S. Reiyuu."

As the lady looked through the list, giving them a nod and checking them off, Kanna and Anceril continued to go. Looking around, Kanna said, "Ceylon, can you go around and look for Reto and Orin? I don't care if you're going to be angry with me, it's an order!"

The Lucario just let out a growl of anger before jumping off, eyes closed. Of course, he was using the power of Aura. Before long, he had located them, landing right in front of them. "Kanna and Anceril are looking for you." His voice was always so cold and heartless, like he never really cared, but nonetheless, he had to obey.

As they waited, Kanna and Anceril were trying to be patient, before looking back up to the sky. What was in store for them?

Back in the private quarters of the ferry, sprawled across a bed, a teenage boy was snoring rather loudly. The chest and stomach of Brendan rose a fell with each slow, steady breath of a drowsy sleep. Another rumbling snore rolled into the air, then the loud blare of a horn drowned out it's sound. With a low groan, the snoring coming from deep within Brendan's chest subsided, and slowly he peeled his eyes open. Dark gray orbs staring at the patterned ceiling, his mouth stretched wide in a yawn that shook his whole frame. Sitting up and swinging his legs off the edge of the bed, the red-haired teen gazed about the room.
"What's going on that I need to wake up?"
The irritated mumble drifted past his lips as Brendan stared into the red eyes of his Absol that had been sleeping alongside him, who had woken up with the movement of his trainer.
Thud, thud, thud, thud, roll rattle thud.
listening to the sounds of movement past the door, dark gray eyes stretched wide.
"WE'RE ON THE ISLAND."
Brendan roared in surprise, leaping to his feet. Hurriedly grabbing the satchel that held his remaining five Pokemon inside and slinging it over his shoulder, the ginger bolted out of the door, Disaster Pokemon bounding alongside.

Skidding to a halt at the end of the dock and standing himself on grass, Brendan inhaled sharply. Looking back at the people still milling off the ship, he turned his gaze to look around at all the people that had already started to go about on their merry business on the island.
The island.
The beauty of the place was simply astounding, like the picture perfect post cards where you could tell the wind was blowing, the sun was shining and nothing could go wrong there ever.
It was that kind of a place.
It was the kind of place that made Brendan's lips curl into a wide smile and he'd only been on the grass for less than a minute.
"Alright, Corick. I don't know if there's any one to take role or what ever, but I think we should look around."
The teen's voice said airily as he knelt down by the white and blue-ish-black Pokemon. With a pleased bark like noise from Corick's end, Brendan stood back up and gazed around.
"Eh-hem, name?"
A stern, dry voice called from behind. Glancing over his shoulder, Brendan stared at the lady.
"Brendan Canui Bocki, from Vermi-"
"I asked your name, sir, nothing more."
The lady replied, gazing down at her clipboard. Signaling to the left, she then turned and headed off. Patting Corick's head lightly, Brendan walked off with his Absol matching pace as he went for the left.

Nuric let out a call towards the approaching Pokemon, and leaped down so that he was facing the Lucario. "Espe!" Which translated to 'Lead the way!' In Pokemon. I am the best translator ever. lD #humblebrag

Becca looked down at the Lucario and smiled brightly. "Heya, Ceylon~" She gave the Pokemon a pat on the head, knowing that it annoys him to high heaven. She laughed and jumped up and down, this was the best day ever! She got to live in a tropical paradise, she also got to learn about the profession she wanted to take, and then Becca got to train with her Pokemon! Now, there must be a catch to this whole thing.

"Bahamut, stay close. Don't you dare wander off!" A soft growl came from a young female trainer as she glanced at the young Deino who stood by her side. The trainer's long black hair was done in a pony tail, but it barely cut back down the length of it.

Bahamut, let out a small happy moan as he slowly realized that the boat had come to a stop. He shook his head, lifting his head slightly at the sound of his 'master' but kept his straight forward. The Deino shuffled forward a bit, bumping into Aria's leg before he gently nuzzled it.

Aria smiled as she watched Bahamut, before glancing at the Pokemon that stood not far behide her. The Zoroark had a small frown on her face as she crossed her arms, clearly not happy about her master not letting her use her abilities. "Zoro..." she muttered as she shook her head, before beckoning her master to move forward.

"Oh calm down, Lamya, nothing is going to happen," Aria said with a small shrug, starting to walk forward. She kept a close eye on Bahamut, making sure that he didn't stray off. She started to glance around the island, watching the Pokemon in marvel. Never had she seen so many Pokemon act so...natural. Perhaps that was the downside in living in a busy region.

"Name." A voice caused Aria to turn her head to look at the lady. The lady glared coldly at her, clearly not wanting to wait for an answer.

"O-Oh! Aria Duff."

The lady glanced down at her clipboard, nodding her head as she checked the list. She finally looked up, her gaze unwavering. She motioned toward the group of people before going back to the clipboard.

Aria frowned, but went on her way. "Deee?" Bahamut said with a small whine, gently banging his head on Aria's leg as they walked.

Aria looked at Bahamut in surprise, before sighing. "Are you hungry already? Just wait until we get to where the ceremonies are taking place, alright?" Bahamut response to that with a small huff, but grew quite as they walked.

~~~~
Still on the boat, stood Daniel. He watched the trainers start to get off in marvel, before glancing at the Chatot that was on his shoulder, a large smile on his face. "We're here, Habiki!"
"We're here! We're here!"
Habiki added happily, his wings flapping a bit as he glanced around the island from his perch. He stumbled a bit when Daniel started to move, but manged to keep his grip on Daniel's shoulder.
Daniel hurried down the docking station and toward the group of people, only looking back to make sure that his Vaporeon was following him. Suddenly he came to a stop, staring at a lady with the clipboard who glared at him. "Name?" she sighed.
"Daniel Smith," he responded with a small nod. Flinching a bit when Habiki started to echo him.
"Daniel Smith! Daniel Smith! Dan-"
"Please, Habiki, be quite for a moment?"
The chatot frowned but remained quite as the lady started to look though her clipboard, before nodding and motioning once again toward all the other trainers. Daniel nodded and started to walk, letting out a soft sigh. "Please, Habiki, you need to be better at not echoing me all the time."
"Vap," Matthrew the Vaporeon added with a small nod, his tail flicking back and forth as he followed behind Daniel.
Well, with the pat on the head from Becca, Ceylon let out a grunt, completely annoyed for all eternity. With that, the Lucario narrowed his eyes. Hating how energetic Becca was all the time really bothered him. Like he cared anyway about what happened if she accidently fell into the ocean. Orion would pick her up anyway. Looking down to the Espeon, he just nodded and started heading back towards Kanna and Anceril.
Meanwhile...
"Uhmm... Shouldn't we be feeding our Pokemon? They must be hungry by now..." Anceril said, looking towards the luggage. One of them was filled with all assortments of berries she had planted as well as ones she used to make Pokeblock and Poffins. Taking out all of her Pokeballs, she was about to send them out when a sudden noise startled her, causing her to drop one of them. The other two Pokeballs had lit up and out came an Alakazam and Blissey. Looking around, she didn't notice that she had dropped one of course.
Heading over to her luggage full of food - for both Pokemon and humans - she took them out, being careful of what to pick. Cheryl liked Liechi Pokeblock, Micle Poffins for Umbra, Mishi prefers Custap Poffins, and... Kurone likes Hondew Berries. Trying to remember, Anceril picked out the bags she prepared for each of her Pokemon before getting out the food she had for Kanna's Pokemon. Velia prefers honey, Ceylon likes... nothing actually, but Mishi's eggs. Aryuna wouldn't mind anything at all, she doesn't have a preference. Neku would like Poffins made out of Enigma Berries, Lillum prefers Jaboca berries and Dasani would like the overripe Poffins.
As she took them out, Kanna was seated by a tree, leaning on it. Something about her made her look wistful. Was it that her appearance her reminded her sister so much of mother? It was true, even Ceylon always had a pang of regret looking at her. Maybe she should just go home. All of Kanna's Pokemon were out and Anceril gave all the Pokemon their food.
"Togekissu!"
"Sylve..."
"Ampharos~ <3"
"Whimsi~"
"Alaka - zam!"
"Blissey?"
"Meow."
"La!"
Those were all the present Pokemon cries. As she give each of them one, she always had a show of gratitude. Ceylon would be heading back soon, but Anceril didn't think he would eat any of the berries or anything she planted. Perhaps he wouldn't mind some Snover berries that she had been saving. Looking, she went looking for Kurone, but noticed the Glaceon was gone. That's weird...
Orion helped lead the way through the crowd, dodging moving feet and narrowly missing stepping on other people's Pokemon. It was like a weird...very confusing dance. Jumping to the side, over other people's bags, and every once and a while stepping on someone's shoes. After giving them a hurried 'Sorry' he continued on his way.
Becca was the first person to spot them. A bigger smile blossomed onto her face. "Reeeeeeeeiiiiii" She called out, excitement pulsing through her veins. Bending down, she snatched up Nuric, and bounded over to her best friend. Nuric, used to being snatched up from the ground, spotting his Pokemon friend, he squeezed himself out of his trainer's arms, and made his way over to the Sylveon. "Espeon!" He cheered happily.
The elder brother watched his sister run over, taking Nuric with her. Orion glanced over at the Lucario. "Hey. Thanks Ceylon."
"Swel-Swel-Swel!" a pokemon's voice called.  Slowly, Lev opened her eyes to see her Swellow staring her straight in the face.  "Ugh, what is it Low? I was nap-" The young trainer was cut off by a loud horn going off.  Glancing out the window, she realized that they'd arrived.  "Wow, Low! look at that! Such a beautiful Island, like the brochure! I bet you're ready to fly around out there, huh?" She said, with Low giving her a Duh.  Why did you think I woke you up? look.  Lev rolled her eyes. "Alright, lets get going," She said.  The swellow fluttered up to allow the girl to stand, then came to a rest on her head.  "You are so lazy," She said, but accepted it anyway.
Down on the ground, Lev filed in behind the other students.
"Name?" The lady said.
"Leviosa Wingard" Lev responded.  The check-in lady nodded and the trainer followed the crowd.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kel stood patiently by the exit, waiting for the traffic to clear before leaving the boat.  It wasn't like there was any real rush, even though he really wanted to get on the island.  He just didn't like the huge crowd and it was easier to avoid it.   Eventually, it thinned out, and Kel slipped out of the boat and onto dry land.  As he shuffled forward with the crowd, he glanced around, noticing that most trainers had at least one pokemon out with them.  Kel sighed.  All of his pokemon where way too large to walk around with.  Only Yami was small enough to call out, but the Sableye would most certainly give the wrong first impression.  "Name?...Sir, your name please?...Sir?"  "Oh! sorry, it's Kelson. Kelson Erthen," Kel said, snapped away from his thoughts.  The woman at the registry took a moment to find the name. "Go on ahead, follow the crowd...Next!" she said, and kel did as he was told.

"Aaaaaab."
A droning bark sounded by Brendan, who looked down. Staring up at him, Corick had taken to sitting on the grass and not moving a muscle, except for his jaws so he could make all the fuss he wanted.
"Corick, I'm not bringing anyone else out. And I'm not feeding you-- I fed you less than an hour ago, you shouldn't be hungry!"
Brendan said sharply, kneeling down and letting the crowd split around him. Barking indignantly, Corick squinted back at Brendan. Their gray and red eyes locked, and after a while Brendan groaned in annoyance.
"Alright, alright, fine!"
Brendan hissed, standing up. Making his way to a clear spot, the young trainer pulled out a Pokeball and tossed it skyward. With a flash of white, the form of a Houndoom curled against the azure sky background. With a massive howling bark, the creature unfurled itself and landed neatly on the grass.
"Happy, Cor? I brought Bocain ought for ya'. If you weren't already scaring the masses, this is sure to chase any chance of meeting someone new off."
Brendan stated, trying to sound annoyed but merely laugh as he reached up to pat Bocain's head.

Aria was quiet as she walked along the path, doing her best to not bump into the crowd of people that surrounded her. She watched as Pokemon and their trainers all headed for the same place, amazed at all the different types of Pokemon that filled the area. She glanced back at Lamya, making sure that the Zoroark was sticking close.

Bahamut, however, let out a small whine, shaking his head as he padded along next to Aria. All the sounds of Pokemon and Trainers talking were just a bit to much for the baby Deino. Suddenly, his head shot up as he turned his head to a random direction, having heard the faint sound of somebody saying something about food. "Deino!" he cried happily, breaking away from Aria as he raced his way forward though the crowd, not really caring about who he bumped into as he blindly made his way toward the trainer that had mentioned the food.

Aria watched Bahamut race off in surprise, before letting out a small moan and hurrying after her. "Bahamut! Get back here!" she called as she pushed her way though the crowd, trying to keep her wild little Deino in her sight.

Lamya shook her head as she watched Bahamut race off, and quickly followed after her trainer with a small growl. Hopefully the baby Pokemon wouldn't get himself hurt...

Bahamut came to a stop at the feet of Anceril; only bearly stoping in time to stop himself from ramming into her legs. His head was faced toward her, as he titled his head and let out a small whine. "D-Deino?" he said, gently moved his head forward to bump against her legs. It was clear he was begging for food.

Finally Aria caught up to Bahamut and swooped up the small Pokemon, shaking her head as she glanced from Anceril to Kanna to Becca. "I am so sorry! Bahamut got hungry and it seems he didn't want to wait for me to feed him once we got to the Courtyard..."

Lamya came to a stop not far from Aria, glancing at the group of Pokemon. She remained silent as she folded her arms, glancing at Bahamut as he attempted to chew on Aria's sleeve; something that Aria didn't pay any attention to as she was already used to Bahamut attempting to eat her clothes from many attempts before.

Ivory woke, startled as her Froslass stood by her, hoping to wake her up. With the luck, the pokemon did. She noted that they had landed. Oh, shoot! She hissed to herself, grabbing her bag, pokeballs, and badges. To her dismay, there were people everywhere. Oh well. Might as well grab her hood and put it up as well. Biting her lip, checking to make sure she had gotten everything, Ivory nodded. She fled from the ship, only to be stopped by someone. Great!

"Name?" The lady asked, her clipboard held awkwardly at her side. This was who had happened to stop her, annoying the young teen.

Ivory muttered to herself, before telling the lady her name. "Ivory Sierra Elkitahb." She said quickly. After being dismissed, she and her Froslass walked over to the courtyard, and grumbled at how it was packed yet again. Even though she was from a busy town- Ivory was somewhat unsocial, except for between her pokemon. Flipping her black hood up over her, she looked as if she was one of those kids who didn't want to be bugged, but she had a smile that she glanced over with to her partner.

Strolling through the grounds, she happened to notice a few things, which brought back history to her mind.

2 years ago...

A young 11-year old girl stood in the front of the line of the wait at the lab. She was going to receive her personal companion, Froslass, from Prof. Juniper. She had already received 4 badges with her pokemon, even though she was still young. She was glad to be able to explore, gladly waiting each passing day for the thrills of meeting pokemon. Holding an Ultra Ball in her hand, she sent out her Riolu. Miss Juniper had asked for her to bring the bright pokemon, as she said she wanted to check on it. Gladly, she brought him with her. Hugging the bright companion, she entered. There awaited her Froslass, a dear friend to her. After much chatting, Ivory had learned that it had been time for the Riolu to evolve, but she lacked the specific needs to do so.

Taking in long wait, the professor handed her the item, and she gave it to her Riolu. Witnessing his evolution was amazing, and she ended up with a stronger companion, Lucario. Afterwards, Ivory had been promised news that when she turned 13, she could go to Pokémon Battle Academy, and hope to thive and graduate.

So now, two years later, here she was. Promised correctly, arriving at the academy. Gripping a lock of her hair between her teeth, she started to note how the others here had different pokemon than the ones she had seen, even though she had been to three different regions. Her Froslass was close beside her, yet there was one thing that was forgotten about her icey companion. She was a shiny Froslass, and Ivory had been so amazed when she received her, as she had known that regular Froslass didn't have this appearance. "Frossla, Fross?" Her companion asked. Ivory turned, nodding before tossing her friend a Cheri Berry, both of their favorites.

Clank!

Pokeballs shook together in rhythm as a black-haired girl walked down the stairs of the boat towards the landing dock, trailed by a Sylveon. It leapt up onto her shoulder as she trumped down the stairs, bright blue eyes flickering frantically. She was unusually nervous; she wasn't one to be anxious, but being away from home as well as being around strangers was really bothering her.

She readjusted her hat a bit and paused to make sure Sylveon was seated properly on her shoulder before continuing on; she passed several people with strange new Pokemon trailing behind them, and in some cases, some people just as interesting looking as the Pokemon. There was one with a haircut that briefly reminded her of Lion-o from an old television show that her mum used to watch with her. As she finally made it to the door, she was grabbed by the hood by an irritable woman who wasn't much taller than her. "Name?" she asked impatiently.

"Cythrakeus W-Wright," she stuttered, rather taken aback, before the woman shoved her off towards the courtyard. It was similarly packed like the dock, and there were just as many unfamiliar people and Pokemon. She stumbled her way over to a bench, sitting down and rifling through her things, running the list through her head. Kyubey's ball.. Incendia, Kaled, Hateeho, Thales, Iain.. extra Pokeballs, Potions..

Satisfied with her findings, she looked up, eyeing the many people still chattering mindlessly around her. Taking each pokemon from its' respective pokeball, she began to rifle through her bag and pull out food for all of them.

"Talonflame!"

"Lucario!"

"Syl!"

"Char!"

"Del!"

"Ninetales!!" Thales shouted excitedly. He seemed to get hungry the fastest out all of her Pokemon, even Kaled (who's a Charizard). Raising an eyebrow, she tossed him his berry and laid back on the bench, closing her eyes and briefly blocking out the noise of the crowd.

Sunny Leland walked coolly across the deck of the ship, her trusty partner at her side each step of the way. Her light brown hair swished behind her as she walked. The Pokemon walking with her ignored the other trainers and their Pokemon, watching only Sunny and not missing a beat.

"Name?" Asked the woman with the clipboard when they reached her.

"Sunny Rose Leland." The woman wrote something down on her clipboard and motioned towards the students already going where they were told.

"Just follow the others, they know where they're going."

The girl nodded, and the Ninetales at her side led the way to a familiar red-headed boy. "Hey, Brennie." Sunny said warmly to her childhood friend. "Have any idea where we're headed?" Ninetales sniffed the other trainer's Absol in greeting, then gave a small bark at the Houndoom.

Looking over his shoulder in surprise, Brendan blinked then smiled.
"Ey, Sun! Didn't see you on the ship."
He replied calmly, turning all the way around to face her.
Leaning back lightly, Corick blinked a few times then growled playfully. Tipping his head to look down at the yellow-tan Ninetales, Bocain barked in response, much louder and greater than that of the other Pokemon's. Long, pointed tail swaying, Bocain narrowed his eyes.

Meanwhile, students had started to form in the courtyard, where a stage had been set up specifically for this event. On the stage, along with a few crew members who were preparing cameras, was a man with a full black beard. He had on a suit but looked incredibly uncomfortable in the formal attire, as a woman dabbed some makeup on his face.
"Augh, get that shit off me!"
"But sir, ya gon' look all sweaty though. Don'cha wan look fabulous?" the lady asked, pursing her lips.
"I don't care! Wilson, whose idea was it to put this on television?"
A short man, most likely around nineteen, ran up. He adjusted his glasses. "R-Rebecca, sir. She said it would bring in revenue."
"Well fire her, this idea was preposterous."
"Reb-becca is your wife though, sir!"
"...ah yes, now I remember. Rehire her, but give her a warning."
"Yes, Mister Nolin."
"Oh yeah, and put a beer in the fridge for me in the office. It's gonna be a long night."
"Now sir, please hold still--"
"Shut up."

Marina had forgotten the directions pretty quickly, instead following the crowd of people as they made their way to the courtyard. By now, directions seemed unnecessary. There were so many people. When she arrived at the stage, a good amount of people had already formed a crowd. Some had Flying type Pokemon and were prepared to ride them for a good view, while others took to climbing trees before they knew if it were legal or not. Marina found her place in the crowd manageable enough, though Lucy, being at Marina's breast, could not see over the person in front of her. It let out an angry Wuuuooowww!, and Marina looked down at the Pokemon.
"O-oh, sorry girl."
The trainer rose its Pokémon to her shoulder, letting it wrap its slender body around the back of her neck.
"Is that better?"
Woooouuaaah~

"Oh my goodness!" Becca cooed aloud, taking a few steps toward the baby Pokemon. "That reminds me when Nuric was a little baby! Huh, Nuric?" She glanced over at the Pokemon on her shoulder. The Pokemon in question rolled his eyes at his trainer. Becca laughed and turned back to the baby Deino. "Is your Deino as much of a handful as Nuric? He was a mess!" She gave the trainer a polite, upbeat smile.

Orion made his way over to the group, his Dragonair slithering closely behind. The male Pokemon trainer had a rough time not trying to break out into a smile. His younger sister loved baby Pokemon. He finally came to a stop next to Anceril. Waving 'Hi' to the group with a short wave, and a large grin. The shiny Dragonair blinked in greeting to the other pokemon, but otherwise stayed silent.

Dakota stood tapping her foot as the courtyard filled up with the other students, looking unimpressed up at the middle aged man on the stage. That couldn't be their headmaster, could it? For a principal of such a prestigious school, he did look rather... unrefined. Yet camera crews were centering their equipment all around him and staff fussed and bowed and scraped before him. How could somebody so unkempt preside over such a reputable academy?

The girl looked to the Honchkrow at her feet, jumping around and cawing loudly at all of the trainers. "Come, Honchkrow." she said before shouldering past some girl with a Gorebyss as she made her way to the front. She wasn't prepared to be relegated towards the back for the ceremony; if there was one thing she hated, it was crowds, and she didn't want to get stuck in the middle.

Now that she was on dry land, Blaire decided she might as well bring one of her Pokemon out. Falling to her knees, she quickly unzipped her travel bag and fished around until her hand clasped around a circular object. Eyes lighting up, she pulled her hand out and gazed at the white Pokéball clutched in her palm. Yup, this was the one she was looking for. This was the Pokéball her father had given to her that he had obtained from some far-off land - she had forgotten where from - to use on her very first Pokémon. She quickly zipped her bag back up and tossed the ball up into the air. The ball opened up and gave off a brilliant light as her Growlithe appeared before her. The fiery pup was overjoyed at finally being let out into the sunshine, and he showed his affection by padding over and nuzzling his trainer's bare leg, causing her to giggle. Reaching down, she ran her pale hand across her Growlithe's head, as happy as he was to have him so close now. Being on that boat without him by her side had truly been torture.

"Come on Shiloh, there's something happening over there!" She pointed over towards where the stage was, the area buzzing with activity as lots of people crowded around it. "Oh drat, we must be late," she whined, hating to have to piece together what was going on while being blocked by a bunch of tall people. Jumping onto her feet, she grabbed her bags and rushed over, Shiloh by her side. When they reached the edge of the crowd, Blaire could see just how dense the crowd was - in population, if not necessarily intelligence. Sighing, she looked down at Shiloh. "Well, I guess we'll just have to force our way through. Hop on, Shiloh." At her command, Shiloh jumped onto one of the travel bags, then took a big leap and grabbed onto Blaire's right shoulder, nearly knocking her over as he scrambled onto her shoulders. He was a bit heavier than normal carry-on Pokémon after all, and he gave his trainer an apologetic look. Blaire just laughed it off and started squeezing her way through the crowds of people, muttering an occasional "Sorry!" or "Excuse me!" while Shiloh gave of a few volleys of barks at particularly obstinate people.

While making her way towards the front, Blaire figured she must look rather odd, a young girl squeezing through crowds with an over-40 pound adorable fire puppy on her shoulders, but she had learned to accommodate him after years of carrying him around. It really was no big deal. As she neared the front, she accidentally leaned her shoulder into the arm of another girl, nearly stepping on the Honchkrow that stood next to her. Quickly retracting her foot, she nearly fell over herself, though she quickly righted herself and gave the customary "Sorry!" before heading for the... the front... She had already reached the front, while still standing next to the girl whose Honchkrow she had nearly flattened. Uh oh.

The Honchkrow squawked noisily and fluttered around its trainer's legs with puffed out plumage, making quite the racket as it voiced its indignation from nearly being stepped on. Dakota narrowed her eye with a venomous glare. Who was this klutzy bint, and why was she carrying her damned fire pup around like it was a Chatot? Idiot. Dakota nearly growled aloud. "If you're quite done, perhaps you would do good by putting your mutt away." she said coldly. "In a pound if not in a Pokéball, unless you always blunder about like this. Was your father a Golem, perhaps?"

Blaire knew that things would be rather awkward, what with her standing right next to the girl she had accidentally bumped into, but she was surprised that it became rather hostile so quickly. Eyes widening, she turned herself to face the angry girl. "Hey, it was an accident!" she retorted, feeling her hot temper start to creep up as the girl's harsh words washed over her. How dare she talk down to her over a simple mistake! Who did this jerk think she was? "And don't you dare talk about my Growlithe or my father that way! I'll have you know that my father is an important contractor who I'm sure is much too important to go out and fix up whatever dilapidated shack you and your dirty bird crawled out of." As she spoke, Blaire knew that she was making a big mistake. This was the first person her age that she had met on the island and she was trading insults with her. All she had to do was apologize and she probably could have mended the girl's angry feelings, but those words got the brunette so mad, her temper just took control and she lashed out without thinking. It was bad, yes. It was her fault, yes. Still, no matter how much she tried, she just could not control her horrible temper.

Meanwhile, her Growlithe was growling angrily at the red-headed skank who had slighted him and his trainer. However, unlike Blaire he had a rather controlled temper and was able to restrain himself from burning that prissy girl into a nice crisp. While he stopped growling, he still gave both her and her Honchkrow a narrowed, dirty look, letting them know that he wouldn't stand by idly and let them trash him and Blaire. No matter what, he was always ready to go into battle for Blaire at a moment's notice, and at that moment he was more than ready to get into it right there, right now.

Dakota just laughed at that. The girl wasn't just clumsy; she was a comedian too. The Walker household was grand. Maybe the bitch would work there one day as a housemaid, if not a prostitute in some Castelia City alleyway. "Ah, so your father isn't a Golem. He's a Conkeldurr." she said with a smirk, turning her attention away from the girl and to her nails. "Yes, I'm sure he's very important as some penniless construction worker. Maybe my father is his boss. Many from Kanto are in his employ. Or are you some Johtonian yokel?" She looked over her fingers and at the principal on the stage before turning her head towards the girl again. "And how does the daughter of some poor, hick, laborer get to the Academy? Did you give Mr. Nolin a few... favors?"

Ivy stood just a few feet away from the neighboring conflict, and she knew her Froslass was getting restless. Placing her hand on her, the girl watched and chuckled, her hooded jacket snuggly fit around her body. "If I were you two, I would watch it. You may not want a hundred eyes watching you." She said in their direction, and her voice was a tad bit raspy from little use, but it didn't seem that bad. Her Froslass murmered in agreement, before she added a slightly important note. "By the way, I don't mean to pick fights, just letting you both know." Ivory added amungst her tellings, her face dimmed by the once again mentioned black jacket. Fumbling with her Lucario's pokeball, she bit back the urge to send her whole team out. After Ivory noticed the principal had walked to the stage, Ivory sighed. She seemed rather tall compared to her Froslass, when normally the pokemon was taller than her.
