Fire and Ice

Taima let out a small growl as she glared at Manue as the back of her head throbbed from the Shadow Claw. However, a faint grin was still on her face. Now this was the kind of battle she wanted! She dropped into a couch, her tail flicking as she awaited orders. She was getting worn down, thought, as her breathing had become a bit of a labor, but enjoyment still sparkled in her eyes. This had been the kind of battle she had been expecting to find here at the Academy.

Aria watched Taima with a calm look. She could tell that the Luxray was enjoying the battle, but she was also getting quite the beating from Manue. It would be a close shave for which one fell first; that much was true. She wanted to change up Taima's attack, but using Roar would only do so much as it would just make Brenden change Pokemon, and Snarl was a dark type so it wouldn't do full damage...There was always Thunder but...No. That would only be if Taima was bound to miss; that move was likely to miss so it would be a good idea to get as much damage as she could out now. Looks like it was Thunder Fang again...But how she would use with Manue on her back was the real question. "Use Thunder Fang now, Taima!"

Taima grinned as she got her orders, before quickly pushing off the ground. It was time to see how tightly Manue could hold on. She took off across the clearing; heading for the large rocks that littered the field. She quickly jumped onto one, and started to bound from rock to rock as she glared at the Stableye. During one of her bounces, she manged to pull off doing a front flip, sending Manue falling off of her back. She landed on the rock she had been aiming for neatly, before spinning around. She glared down at Manue with a smile before leaping down straight ontop of him, latching on to him with her jaws once again as she shocked him with her electricity.

Manue had held on tightly until the flip, hitting his back on the ground with a low hiss. About to get back on his feet, he suddenly hollered-- something terrifyingly close to human --as the Luxray sent electricity through him again.

Surprise her.
Brendan thought immediately as he watched the battle. It would be Shadow Claw again, of course. But he'd switch Manue out, use a Potion on him, maybe even a Super Potion if he had one.
"Surprise her!"
Brendan yelled, voicing his thought.

The purple Pokemon understood completely. While Taima was still latched onto him, he let shadows crawl over half his arm. Waiting, he reached up and slashed at her again, pride in Manue's gemstone-eyes.

Taima dropped Manue with a sudden screech, stumbling backwards when she felt his claws rake against her face. Her fur stood on edge as she felt electricity run though it, her eyes narrowed as she watched the Sableye. Oh no, she was done with this.

Aria shook her head with a small sigh, before pointing her hand at Manue. "Taima, use Thunder Fan..g..." She grew quiet because she noted the electricity that was running though Taima's fur was gathering, causing her to give off a yellow glow. She isn't...

Oh, but she was. Taima's fur stood on edge as she charged up, her teeth bared. She knew the risks of this move, and it could be her down fall but she was doing it! With a sudden howl, her fur cracked with electricity before a sudden blast of lightning shot from her body, heading straight for Manue. The only question...Would it hit?

The shock of electricity landed a few feet before Manue, but he jumped back onto a rock anyway. Narrowing his eyes, he stared at the blackened earth where the charge had hit. Looking up at Taima, he stared at her.

"Night Shade!"
Brendan called. He was smart in calling out this move-- Taima was finished now, completely done for.

Turning his head back to Taima, Manue smiled. A childish grin, yet full of a striking terrifying force, an innocent smile with creepy in its wake. Seeming to descend from above, purple-black clouds of fog and shadows crept around the Luxray.
"Saaaaaaaaabeeeeeee."
The call was high pitched, yet distant. Only Taima could see the cloud, though. Shrill cries of Pokemon and trainers alike echoed through the foggy black, swirling around Taima. Without warning, the shadows closed in around Taima, really causing damage.

Taima let out a hiss when she saw her move had missed, suddenly at the sight of the black clouds, she jumped backwards. Her eyes widen as she whipped her head around. As the sound of the cries reached her ears, she let out a sudden howl and dropped to the ground, swiping at her large ears as she tried to block out the sound. Her eyes flashed open as she glared at the darkness, letting out a small moan as she pulled herself to her paws. No...She was going out standing. Even thought she couldn't see past the dark clouds; something that startled her as she did have her x-ray eyes, she took a deep breath as the clouds suddenly stuck her and a howl of pain came from the Luxray before it became a low moan and she hit the ground without a sound. Taima was out.

Aria watched the whole thing with a frown. Of course, she could only see her Luxray's reaction to the move. She knew about Night Shade, of course. It caused whoever the move was used on to see an illusion; something that she knew plenty about because of Lamya, but this illusion could only be seen by the target of the spell. She let out a soft sigh as she watched Taima hit the ground, and picked up the Pokeball, returning the Luxray. She looked at her last two Pokeballs, trying to figure how who to use. However, instead of picking out a Pokeball, she glanced at Bahamut who was chewing on an apple. She clicked her tounge, causing the Deino to raise his head with a flicker of surprise. 

Lamya however took a step forward, but instead of jumping into the fight herself, she gently picked up Bahamut and jumped into the area, before dropping the Deino in the middle of the field. "Zoro," she muttered before turning and heading back to Aria as she left Bahamut to fight.  The Deino frowned, moving his head around as he attempted to figure on what was going on. He knew this was a battle, but he had the small problem of being unsure of where Manue was.

Manue's ability Stall. Bahamut moves first.

Manue stared at the Deino, remaining on his rock.
"The blind one?"
He thought with amusement, the red gem on his chest and his eyes glowing.

Bahamut stood in the arena, swinging his head around until he finally stopped, his head aiming straight toward Manue as he snifed the air. He lowered his head with a growl, before suddenly racing forward toward the Sableye. As he grew closer to the rock, his head lifted sightly, letting out a small, slightly confused growl.

Aria grinned when she saw Bahamut take off toward Manue, shaking her head. Thank goodness for Bahamut's amazing nose. However, the fact that Manue was on top of a rock was a bit worrisome. "Bahamut, jump and use Dragon Rush!"

Bahamut raised his head, quickly noticing how the scent of the Sableye was now coming from an different angle all together. At the sound of Aria's command, he let out a happy roar as he quickly kicked off of the ground and took a flying leap toward Manue. "Deino!" he cried as he lowered his head. His whole body started to glow blue as a dragon-shaped energy covered his body. Of course, one again, the question was if he would mange to hit Manue.

Manue jumped back as the Deino soared past, then looked over at his trainer. Brendan nodded, and the Sableye looked back at the Deino.
"Sableye!"
It chimed, hoping the Deino would look at it. Once again, there was darkness. No one could see the darkness, not even Bahamut, considering his blindness, but there was a bitter smell to the invisible black. Everything faded then broke out in tormented screeching around the Deino, the smells of the clouds and unintelligible bitter smells mingled in swathing the Pokemon.

Bahamut pulled himself to his feet with a huff, before quickly freezing. The odd scent reached his nose, causing him to start shaking his head as he attempted to get it to leave. Suddenly, the sudden screeching caused the Deino to join in, stumbling backwards as he cried out for it to stop. He dropped to the ground, covering his head with his paws as he let out a loud whine, shaking as he silently waited for it to leave.

"Oh Bahamut..." Aria whispered as she picked up the Pokeball that belonged to the Deino, before pointing it at the dragon type with a sigh. "Return," she said as she summoned Bahamut into the Pokeball; freeing him from Manue's illusion. It seemed odd, that she was already changing him out but she hadn't realized how bad of a match he was against Manue. She gently placed Bahamut's ball to the side as she pulled out a different one and threw it into the air. "Go, Blossom!"

The Pokeball opened and out came the Vileplume, who glanced around the clearing until she spotted Manue. She let out a small growl, shaking her large petals as she got ready for a fight. Nobody treated her little Bahamut that way and got away with it! Oh, she was going to make Manue pay for using that horrible move...But, she didn't attack. No, instead she waited for Manue to make his move first. She wanted to see what the little devil was made out of.

"Again."

Manue stared at the Vileplume, hesitant.
Again?
He thought, then blinked. Conjuring up darkness again, he wondered what could be going on around Blossom. He tried to hear, tried to see, what he'd made, but he couldn't. Part of him felt bad for this..

Blossom took a deep breath as she felt the darkness close around her. She heard...Nothing. Everything had become dead silent; she couldn't even hear the sound of the winds or the chirping of Pidoves. She was just alone. The silence ate at her, making her feel small and unworthy as she winched, waiting for the move to end so she would be blessed with the sounds of nature; her home. Finally pain shivered though her body as she felt the darkness rush at her, and in a few seconds, it was gone. She let out a gasp as she stumbled backwards a bit, overjoyed to hear the sounds of life once again. She shook her head, before giving Aria a smile to show that she was alright.

Aria let out a happy sigh, before running the list of moves that Blossom knew though her head. Which one would be helpful...She faintly smiled as she settled on one. "Blossom! Mega Drain!"

Blossom nodded as she lowered her head so that the carpel of the flower on her head faced Manue. A green glow started to come from it, until a green beam of light shot from it; heading straight for the Sableye. As it stuck Manue, the beam's glow pulsed as some of energy from Manue transferred to Blossom, healing her a bit.

Manue winched, feeling the energies sucked out of him.

"Manue, return."
Brendan said dryly, watching a red beam of light draw back into the Pokeball he had held out.
"Go on, Diluet. Show 'em your bite."
Brendan said, looking at the Mightyena behind him.

Getting to his paws and stretching, the Mightyena yawned and looked at the battle field. Troddling out onto the field, the large gray and black dog barked quietly and yawned.
"Ena...."
He murred, blinking drowsily.

"Diluet huh?" Aria muttered as she watched the Mightyena enter the field. Dark type...Which meant that just Ghost and Dark types would be weak to it. Luckily, Blossom knew neither of those types of moves. "Blossom, use Sludge Bomb!"

"Vile!" Blossom grinned as she took a deep breath, before taking a step forward and quickly spitting out brown blobs of sludge at Diluet. The blobs flew toward the air, striking the Mightyena before quickly exploding; just like real bombs.

"Flamethrower!"
Brendan yelled.

Ignoring the sting from the Slude Bomb, Diluet raised his head. Flames crackled at his mouth, then he lowered his head. A roaring torrent of flames raged at the Vileplume, covering her then smoking out a few feet behind.

This attack was new-- Brendan had taught Diluet it just before leaving for the Academy. Surely Aria and Sunny had to have been surprised by this.

Blossom let out a cry as she felt flames lick her body, stumbling backwards as she shook her head with a low moan. She glared at the Mightyena as she gently patted at her body, making sure that all of the flames that had stuck her were out as smoke curled from her body.

"WHAT?" Aria's mouth dropped open in surprise, as she bit her lip when she saw how hurt Blossom was now. There was nothing she could do against Diluet to stop Blossom from faint...She knew that there was no way her grass type could take on another one. But...Yes, she would have to do it. "Blossom! Petal Dance, now!"

The Vileplume took a shaky step forward, taking a deep breath before she started to bounce back and forth, from foot to foot, as she shook her body in a dance of some sort. Petals started to appear from the opening on her flower, as they started to gently fall around the dancing Vileplume. She then stopped, the petals pausing in mid-air before they suddenly shot forward at amazing speeds at the Mightyena.

Diluet screeched, shaking as the petals sliced through and past him. He trembled, squinting to keep his vision focused on the Vileplume.
"Mightyenaaaaaa."
He growled.

Brendan blinked in surprise, then sighed.
"Crunch."
He hissed, folding his arms.

Straightening up, the Mightyena made his way for the Vileplume, fast as he could. Reaching her, snapped his jaws shut around a mouthful of petals, growling low.

Blossom let out a sharp cry as she felt Diluet's teeth met her large flowers, struggling in his grasp. She finally manged to break Diluet's grip on her, but as she stumbled backwards, she hit the ground with a low moan. 

Aria frowned, shaking her head. Another Pokemon already out...This was getting tough. She quickly returned her Vileplume before glancing at her final two Pokeballs. She had Bahamut and Uri...And with a soft sigh, she picked up Bahamut's Pokeball. Uri just wasn't the best choice yet. She threw the pokeball into the clearing, releasing Bahamut back into the battle.

The Deino let out a small whine as he entered the battle, sniffing the air. However, when he noticed that he was no longer fighting the Sableye, he let out a happy growl. He was ready to rumble then.

Brendan lifted Diluet's Pokeball, calling back the dog Pokemon. This was it. Corick was the Last Man Standing-- not counting Manue.

Without waiting for a word from Brendan, Corick leaped onto the battlefield and glared at the Deino.
"Ab!"
He barked, the sound full of anger.
Waiting-- move, you blind baby.

Bahamut frowned as he realized that his opponent had just changed, but he let out a huff as he dragged his foot along the ground, lowering his head as he got ready to charge.

Aria smiled when she saw Corick step forward. Dark type...As long as Bahamut didn't use a dark or ghost type move, he would do normal damage. "Bahamut, use Headbutt!"

The Deino nodded with a huff, before sending himself flying forward. As he bounded across the field, he kept his head aimed on the Absol until he finally rammed into the dark type with all that he had.

Brendan had everything worked out. While Bahamut may pose a minor threat, there was nothing Bahamut could do against this attack.
"Corick, Perish Song."
The Trainer said, his voice calm, dark.

Looking back at Brendan, the Absol nodded and lifted his head, jaws parting. A song peeled into the air from his mouth, surprisingly beautiful for its honest purpose. After a while, Corick lowered his head. The song had finished. He stared across at the Deino, blinking.

Shit.

Aria bit her lip when she heard that move being used. Of course...She let out a grumble, before grabbing her Pokeball. She hated already doing this so early into the battle again, but she didn't have much of a choice. "Bahamut, return...Again." As the dragon Pokemon returned to the Pokeball to escape the effects of Perish Song, she picked up her last Pokeball. "Go, Uri!"

The red beam shot out of the Pokeball until standing in the place of it was a tiny Litwick. He opened his eyes with a soft smile as he looked across the field. The blue flame on his head gave off a eerie light as he waited for Corick to make a move.

"Physco Cut Corick."

Purple-pink rays of light in the jagged shape of the horn on Corick's head shot at Bahamut at horrid speeds, slicing around and past the little Pokemon with force to match the speed.

Uri flinched as he felt the pink blades of energy cut him, shaking his head as he glanced at his trainer, waiting to be told what to do.

"Flame Burst."

The name of the move reached the candle-like Pokemon, causing him to give Corick a sly smile as he turned to face him. Uri threw his small arms into the air as the flame on his head started to flicker, before a ball of fire appeared above his head. "Lit...WICK!" Uri cried as he quickly pointed his arms at the Absol; sending the ball of fire straight at him before it exploded on contact.
